"A soul is made up of excellent bars, then. Do you really think you could do and say more so as you wish now without your initial contact with the Akribis? And, gladly." Seth took a sharp left, through a thin opening between two structures. A rather tight fit for the rest of them. And leading to a small and very overgrown path, his knowledge told him was much older than the houses they just passed. This way, he signaled, tilting his head at the rest of them through the opening.

Hawthorne gave an aggrivated sigh as he prepared to follow Drex between the buildings.

Vythica smiled and gave Evynne's hand a reassuring squeeze, "Let's go," She followed the others through the space between the two buildings, the tall grass itchy and wet against her legs. It was a claustraphobic fit, the gap being very small, and she hoped they wouldn't have to follow this one path for very long.
"How are you holding up?" she asked Evynne.

Calantha remained silent in regards to the Blur's comment. Some things were too difficult to explain. "What lies ahead?" she inquired, hoping darkly for something grueling.

    ----------------

Evynne managed a wavering smile. "Fine, thank you." For a moment, she stared at Vythica, recalling images as if they were her own memories. But they weren't. "What was he like?"

Vythica was caught off guard by the girl's sudden question, "Well," she breathed out sharply. This was going to be difficult, "He was...wonderful. Probably the greatest man I ever knew, and I've been around for a very long time."
She remembered his smiling face, the way his eyes would glisten when he laughed. For a fleeting moment, she would've sworn she could hear his voice, "Anyway," Vythica said, clearing her throat, "He was very loving and kind, caring and compassionate. He didn't deserve to die."
With her free hand she wiped away the wetness in her eyes before the little girl could see.

"Neither did you," Evynne replies softly, fixing her with her white, opaque gaze.

"Miles of trekking. Well, for the rest of you, that is. I'll just... slide through ahead, and let the rest of you worry about clearing a path for the more humanoid forms," Seth's casual smirk never really seemed to leave his face these days, and ah, they were good times. Especially with the Gale that would be coming through not too long from now, as his knowledge let him know. After all, he wasn't just connected to the past of the Akribis, however the rest of his group didn't really need to know the true boundaries of his knowledge.

Miles of trekking. Those weren't the words that Vythica wanted to hear. She had hoped that this part of the journey would be as quick and painless as possible, but it seemed that was not going to be the case. At least, she hoped, that the rest of the journey would be somewhat easier. Although, hopes can only get one so far. It was quite obvious that if anything, the journey was only going to get worse.
Vythica wasn't fond of that idea so she clung to her hopes, stared straight ahead, and kept on walking. It wasn't like she had any other choice.

((Okay, taking some liberties. Object if you need to.))

Evynne's brow wrinkled as she gazed at the blurry creature. She didn't hear his words. She was instead seeing strange hazy pictures, gray, gloomy scenes that confused her, reflected back as if she were staring into a mirror of a mirror that looked upon an open window. The crystalline surface rippled like hot glass, patterns imprinted on its surface briefly by a reedy shrieking, almost like the sound of an animal in pain, or a fierce wind, or maybe both.

She was suddenly standing at the entrance of a valley, two immense cliffs looming up over her to the right and to the left. They cast a deep pitch of shadow over her, blocking the sun and cooling the air. In between the two cliffs was a gray stone wall, extending from rock face to rock face and soaring high up above the tallest of the peaks. There was a large cavernous entrance. She squinted into it, but could see nothing except her own fear staring back at her.

On either side of this gaping maw was a statue. One was of a woman, with kind, sad eyes, compassionate and pleading, extending a gray, crumbling hand outwards, palm up, holding a lump of stone. Her chest was a concave emptiness. The stone was her heart. Was she promising it to the brave who dared the depths of the labyrinth? Or the wise who turned away from it?

    The other statue was...

The vision ended then. Frowning, Evynne tried to place it. Clearly, it was not the present, or at least not as she knew it. Neither did it ring of the future. But of whose past was it part of? There was no definite way to tell that it fit into any of these categories however. Time could be fickle.

"Miles of trekking," she repeated the creature's words as they echoed back to her from far away. "And the Narissan Labyrinth."

((Okay, so, just wanted to put in an obstacle. If this isn't settling with you guys, well, you can just sway the story a different way.))

((Nope! Actually liking it quite a bit! Want to make that the first obstacle and TS (time skip, skip ahead to) it? Instead of just miles through the woods. Unless you want to do something else first, but I figured we could just sum up the travel, say that pretty much everyone was tired (or even worse, bored, in Seth's case) and then get to the valley? If you guys are fine I can just do that quickly.))

((I'm fine with that. Travel would be best summed up. Exciting things don't happen every minute.))

((Alright! I'll take this as a yes but if Sarah has any other ideas I can always just log this post for later. I'm gonna start a new topic for it, just so we have somewhat of a way of categorizing things.))
